This event was expected as one of the stronger editions of this unique seven-furlong contest for female horses. Yet, vet checks led to multiple withdrawals earlier today, such as leading runners Sweet Azteca and Tamara.

As a result, the field now appears significantly reduced, though trainer Bob Baffert stands a strong chance to secure a twentieth Breeders’ Cup victory. His entrants feature Richi and Splendora, whereas Hope Road, victor in the Grade One Ballerina Stakes, is considered the primary threat.
